One layer/sided great for movies on DVD!

DVD-5 gives you a disc that is equipped with one layer and one side for playing and burning files. You can pack 4.3 GB on this disc. The disc measures 120 millimeters and is able to work with DVD Video and DVD ROM's.

DVD-5 makers advertise the disc as being a 4.7 gigabyte disc. This is false as compared to US standards. The 4.7 comes from the Japanese measurements that use 1,000 instead of 1,024. The 1,024 is the right number to use and it gives it a larger storage capacity. The CD is almost seven times smaller that this and not as big as the DVD is.

DVD 5 Video is a great item to use with the DVD writer. This means the DVDR (+ or -) can only use the one layer disc.
